Artisan Florist & Flower Grower

Rooted in Measham, on the Leicestershire / Derbyshire border

Inspired by the seasons

Welcome, I’m Maria, I love to create natural garden gathered arrangements from locally grown seasonal flowers, for all your meaningful occasions.

I work from my flower studio in my cottage garden where I also hold workshops for budding florists and flower arrangers. I use British flowers wherever possible and grow many of my own. Specialising in unusual varieties along with English country garden flowers and wildflowers.

My floristry is inspired by nature and the changing seasons. British grown flowers are a joy to work with, they are fresher, kinder to the environment and have an amazing perfume.

I work in a sustainable way and consider the impact any designs I make will have on the environment. I avoid the use of floral foam as this contains micro plastics, which is harmful to our wild life and the environment. Packaging is kept classically simple and is biodegradable, compostable or recyclable.

Embracing the seasons, your flowers will be handpicked by me, combining scents, colours and textures that bring the outside in. So whatever the occasion you can always be assured of a personal service.

I am passionate about British flowers and love to talk about them and share my knowledge on growing cut flowers and flower arranging. I run flower workshops and give talks showing you how to work with nature, not against it, to grow and arrange flowers in an eco-friendly way.

British Seasonal Flowers

Every season has its own glory and we nurture nature to produce an abundance of gorgeous greenery and beautiful blooms.

To start our season we have the fresh and vibrant spring bulbs of Tulips and Daffodils with their bright and bold colours. Ranunculus with their clusters of pretty petals in every shade and delicate blossom that fills the air.

For summer there are the majestic spires of foxgloves, daisies that sway in the breeze, delicate wildflowers and the heady scent of sweet peas.

Moving onto autumn we can offer Dahlias in rich berry colours, seed pods and fruits all mixed with light and feathery grasses.

Winter completes the circle with lush greenery and silver leaved eucalyptus, sculptural branches and elements of dried treasures.

This is just a small taster of the flowers we grow here at The Flower Patch; we are also lucky to be able to source British flowers from the larger growers during the winter months. Take a look at our portfolio to see more glorious blooms.
